A Gourmet Touch - Chef Karen Tipps
Inspired by my family who cooked, it is only natural that I would find it my way of life. Cooking to me is a way of expressing myself and I enjoy working with someone to create a menu that helps them express their feelings about the occasion. I also enjoy the interacting with the guests and listening to any comments that may arise.
That is why I have created a multifaceted company that is not limited to a particular style or region of cooking. I look forward to working with my clients to create a very personalized menu and foods that tastes as good as it looks. The personal chef business has given me the opportunity to bring something special into many people’s homes and businesses. It allows you the customer to select your own dinners for a week or simply for one special occasion and I come to your house and prepare them, leaving you to enjoy quality stress free time at the dinner table with your family or your guests.
I also have many business clients who enjoy the simplicity of calling me knowing that I am a one stop shop. My clients call me with an idea of what they are looking for and we work out a menu on the spot and deliver it to you as well as clenup afterward if needed.
I graduated from Johnson and Wales University, I went to work at the Omni Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana where I honed my culinary skills in catering and ice sculpting. That is also where I met my husband, Blake.
From there I went to the newest golf and country club in Fishers, Indiana, The Hawthorn’s Golf and Country Club. There I helped create unique theme buffets and changed the dining room menu seasonally. Also in Fishers, I taught culinary classes at Fraiser’s Gourmet Foods. As a chef, I think of myself as a teacher. I have no secrets and if you are willing to learn then I can teach you.
Most recently my family has relocated to Palmdale. I continue to teach at Gelson’s Market and cater unique events to local residence and businesses.
Call me and let’s see what we can create together.
